An Embleton Oasis
Here are a few snaps of my latest project; a great, spacious front yard area in Embleton. The design was primarily based around the integration of 6 corrugated sheet metal planter boxes into the yard space, with the intent of tending to thriving veggie gardens in the not too distant future, in mind. Also, in the centre of the yard was a great tropical style bamboo pergola that acted as another interesting focal point around which to work the design. Through use of the differing colour and texture apparent in so many great recycled materials, such as salvaged jarrah and crushed demolition bricks, and utilising as much of this large space as possible, I hoped to achieve an outdoor environment that was both functional and visually exciting.. Turned out a treat, I reckon...

A gateway to another... part of the yard.
I was lucky enough recently to do a job for some close friends Marcelle and Peter in Shenton Park. The project was a small (yet substantial) limestone wall fitted with a beautiful old salvaged gate which was a blue that is blue as blue can be. As well as this I was asked to include a few small niches here and there throughout the wall structure where candles could sit, that I later mosaic-ed (is that a word?) so as to reflect colourfully. It was an amazing job to work on, not only for the lovely company n coffee but as the gate closed pretty nicely at the end of it, too...
TANKs HEAPS, RAIN!
Here in Perth we all understand the importance of water conservation, and rainwater tanks are well known as a brilliant way to do our part. And I say; if you've got it flaunt it, and I don't mean "shake what ur mamma gave ya" (in the, thankfully long forgotten, words of TV Rock) but more; chuck a nice big rainwater tank where ever you can. These days there is such an amazing variety of shapes, sizes, colours and styles to choose from in state of the art rainwater catchment systems, and on top of that; installation, base structures and gutter adjustments are right up our alley here at the greenest leaf. Here's one I prepared earlier:
